GL Excess
GL Excess is an OpenGL benchmark that makes very little demands on the hardware. Scenes with over 200 or even 400 frames per second are not uncommon here. But it offers some remarkable effects.
In this benchmark, the GeForce3 Ti 500 only achieves the performance of a Radeon 8500 LE at a resolution of 1280x1024 in 16 bit. But here, too, the differences in performance between the GeForce3 cards become extremely clear!
In 32-bit color depth, the GeForce3 Ti 500 is the undisputed winner and around 10% faster than the GeForce3. It should be noted here that it has a 20% higher GPU clock.
