Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 Ti500 in the test: Against the ATi Radeon 8500

The GeForce3 Ti 500 is actually just a drilled out and improved GeForce3 and a direct competitor of the ATI Radeon 8500. We took a closer look at the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 Ti 500 and let them compete against the GeForce3, GeForce3 Ti 200 and the ATI PowerMagic Radeon 8500 (LE). Whether the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 Ti 500 can stand up to the Radeon 8500, and how much faster she is than her sisters, you will find out on the following pages.

InnVision is once again going for black and blue. The special thing about the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 Ti 500 is that the blue heat sinks now have their own Inno3D lettering. The PCB now also consists of eight layers instead of the six otherwise usual with GeForce3 cards. A Blue Orb is used again as the GPU cooler, which cools the card very well. We also noticed the very good workmanship of the card. In contrast to the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3, the heat sinks are closer to the memory chips, which is probably the result of a different mounting method. The cooling performance should clearly have been improved by this method.
