Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 Ti200 in the test: What does the little brother of the GeForce 3 do?

3DMark 2001

The big brother of 3DMark 2000 is primarily designed for DirectX 8 features, which so far have only been used by GeForce3 cards. With the predecessors, only partially good results can be expected. This benchmark is an indication of the performance of the graphics cards in future games. However, one of the benchmarks' shortcomings comes to the fore in our test: graphics cards that do not yet support DirectX8 features, but which 3DMark2001 uses, only get 0 points for the Nature test. Graphics cards that support these features naturally receive additional points for this test, which increase the distance between the cards. In addition, the other scenes that rely on DirectX8 are emulated by the CPU, which of course does not have a positive effect on the result.

As expected, the GeForce3Put the Ti200 in front of the GeForce2 Ultra in 3DMark 2001, but is again up to 10 percent behind its big brother. Compared to the GeForce2 Ultra, however, you should definitely not forget that the benchmark was specially designed for DirectX8 cards.
