Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 in the test: GeForce 3 against Geforce2 Ultra

Unreal Tournament (utbench)

Unreal Tournament uses a lot of the CPU and offers a lot of effects. The game benefits from a high memory bandwidth of the graphics card and system memory, but does not use T&L. Although Unreal Tournament supports various interfaces such as OpenGL, S3TC, Glide and Direct3D, we only use Direct3D, with maximum quality. The Unreal Tournament UTBench is heavily CPU limited. It shows a match with 16 bots in DM Gothic.

UT bench 16 bit

Here it becomes clear again how much the UTBench is CPU-limited. There are hardly any differences between the individual resolutions at 16-bit color depth, but the Geforce2 Ultra is on the right tracknevertheless with around 6% always before the Geforce3.

UT bench 32 bit

And the ratio does not change drastically even with 32Bit. The differences between the cards are only minimal, although the GeForce2 Ultra is still superior.
