Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 Titanium in the test: rip-off or useful addition?

Test system

The test system was an AMD Athlon C with 1333MHz and 266MHz FSB on the recently tested Legend QDI KinetiZ 7E-A for use. For the first time we used Windows XP Professional as the operating system. We left the integrated VIA 4in1 drivers and DirectX 8.1 unchanged because the VIA 4in1 drivers are a special version for Windows XP and there is no final DirectX 8.1 version yet. More and more gamers are relying on Windows 2000 and now also on the successor, so we consciously use Windows XP for the tests. In my opinion, the advantages of Windows XP outweigh Windows 98 so much that there is actually no reason not to rely on this OS when playing games, even if you may lose a few frames. Of course, this decision always depends on the hardware that is available. All Nvidia graphics cards have been tested with the official Detonator version 21.83. The graphics cards have been checked with regard to their clock rate and tested with the clock rate with which they are delivered. No card stepped out of line, but all of them were from Nvidiaspecified clock rates.

Benchmarks

So that the result of the benchmarks covers both current and future game engines, both DirectX 7 and DirectX 8 based benchmarks were used. Both OpenGL and Direct3D were taken into account. In addition to practical benchmarks, synthetic benchmarks such as 3D Marks were also used. Since there is nothing to complain about in the 2D performance of today's graphics cards, since they all provide sufficient performance here, we have dispensed with such tests.
