Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX400 in the test: 32 and 64 MB VRAM in comparison

Unreal Tournament

Unreal Tournament is based on DirectX 7 and is considered to be very CPU-heavy, so the graphics cards have a rather minor influence on the game speed. Incidentally, this first person shooter is a good example of games that run a lot faster under Windows 9x than under Windows 2000. In this case, we don't care because we compare the performance of the graphics cards with each other on the same system.

    • GeForce2 MX
      25,5

In the resolutions 640x480 to 1024x768 all three graphics cards are the same. The rest of the system really seems to be limiting the speed here. In higher resolutions, the GeForce2 MX falls behind quite significantly, while the 64MB variant can just barely keep up with the 32MB variant.

And so it has then a happy ending for the Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX400 with 64MB graphics memory! In 1280x1024 it is 34% faster than the 32MB variant and so what is stated in the manual for the graphics cards has proven to be true. Unfortunately, no tests could be carried out with the two 32MB graphics cards in 1600x1200x32, but it can be assumed that the 64MB variant could have expanded its lead even further.
