Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 MX400 in the test: 32 and 64 MB VRAM in comparison

3DMark 2000

Although the 3D Mark 2000 has already been replaced by the 2001 version, it is still very useful as a DirectX 7 benchmark. It does not reflect the performance of the graphics cards in this test in the current games, which almost all are still based on DirectX 7, but it is still something of a standard benchmark.

  • Surprisingly, the version of the GeForce2 MX400 with 64MB graphics memory on the 32MB card has to admit defeat. The 64MB variant obviously cannot profit from its large memory and has to be content with second place because its memory is only addressed at 166MHz.

A similar picture emerges in 3DMark 2000 with 32Bit Color depth. The 64MB card even has to admit defeat to the old GeForce2 MX in some cases. In 1600x1200, however, it can catch up with the other graphics cards again, which is due to its large graphics memory.
