Inno3D Tornado GeForce 2 Ultra in the test: Price drop of the GeForce 2
Quake III Arena
Quake III Arena uses OpenGL only. The first person shooter is characterized by a large number of polygons and complex scenarios. From a resolution of 1024x768x32, the demands on the memory bandwidth of the graphics card are particularly high. Since many games are based on the Quake III engine, the tests with Quake III are very practical.

At the high level of detail, the GeForce2 Ultra has a performance advantage of around 40% with just one resolution of 800x600 clearly noticeable, while in the higher resolutions it is only around 100% in contrast to the normal detail level.

Here, too, the different performance of the graphics cards is significant early on, even with one Resolution of 1024x768x32 is the GeForce2 Ultra more than twice as nice nell like the GeForce256 DDR. Thanks to the 64MB memory and not least because of the high memory bandwidth of the GeForce2 Ultra, the Asus V6800 looks pretty old. The differences in the low resolutions and low levels of detail are not that serious, but honestly, who likes to forego effects and details in order to be able to play a game smoothly in resolutions above 800x600?
