Infineon is considering a price increase
If you believe Ralph Heinrich, spokesman for the Infineon group, the German DRAM manufacturer will soon again noticeably raise memory prices. As Infineon announced in Munich, in this case one only reacts to the price increases of the competition.
The South Korean company Hynix had already set up to 30% higher prices on January 1st and Samsung also seems to be about to take this step to stand. In this way, the industry is trying to get back into calmer waters after a year of heavy losses. Infineon alone posted a loss of 1.02 billion euros in 2001 (January-September).
