Infineon and Toshiba end talks

As Infineon just announced, the negotiations on a cooperation in the storage area with Toshiba did not come to a common result. After intensive discussions, Infineon and Toshiba agree that none of the options discussed would be viable for both sides at the same time.

'I regret that the discussions held as partners could not be continued and that the result we aimed for was not achieved Ulrich Schumacher, CEO of Infineon, commented on the decision. While Infineon is still open to cooperations with manufacturers of memory chips, Toshiba has announced that it intends to withdraw from chip production entirely. The planned partnership was announced at the end of August with the aim of improving the market position of both companies.
