Infineon and Nanya work together
Infineon and the Taiwanese chip manufacturer Nanya have put into practice a collaboration that became known at the beginning of the year. In a joint announcement in Munich today, the two chip manufacturers announced that the contracts are now signed.
One of the goals of the two companies is to develop the promising 0.09 µm/0.07 µm manufacturing technology for Developing 300mm wafers together. As part of a 50:50 joint venture, the companies will be commissioning a 300 mm plant in Taiwan at the end of next year. The two giants will invest 550 million euros in memory chip production by the end of 2005.
