IDF: Notebook with Intel Mobile-P4 processor

At the IDF, the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, the performance differences between the Pentium III and the new Mobile-P4 were shown in a short demonstration, after which the new features of the Mobile-P4 processor were presented.

One of the features is the new SpeedStep technology, which, together with the new 'Deep Sleep' and 'Deeper Sleep Alert State' power-saving modes, should ensure that the battery life is not reduced due to the increased performance of the processor becomes. The first notebooks will come onto the market equipped with DDR266 memory, the i845D chipset and an Intel Mobile-P4 1.5 GHz processor. According to rumors, the notebooks should be available in mid-March.
