i845D is well received

With the i845D chipset, Intel seems to have made a big hit. All mainboard manufacturers, so to speak, already have boards in their range or at least have announced them. In addition to SDRAM, the i845D also supports the faster DDR-SDRAM.

You can already order Pentium 4 systems with the new chipset from Dell, Gateway and Hewlett-Packard, other manufacturers will follow suit shortly. Epox had already presented three mainboards with the i845D chipset yesterday, one of them in MicroATX format, and Transcend also presented an ATX model on Sunday. The i845D from Intel is the third chipset for the Pentium 4 that supports DDR-SDRAM.
