HP grows thanks to the notebook division

The complete system manufacturer Hewlett Packard (HP) is profiting these days particularly from the ongoing business with notebooks. As a result, the group can report a profit increase of 28 percent for this quarter.

The net profit is thus 2.16 billion US dollars, which is a jump compared to the previous year (1.7 billion), which makes the stock exchanges cheer even against the backdrop of a global financial crisis. Just in time for the end of the HP financial year, the share is now worth 81 cents more than in the same period of the previous year. Sales also increased by 15 percent to 28.3 billion US dollars.

Overall, this development is due to cost-effectiveness driven by corporate management as well as the flourishing business in notebooks, software and technical services.
