Hewlett Packard with AMD notebook
Hewlett Packard, one of Intel's flagship distributors, is likely to release a notebook with an AMD Mobile Athlon 4 processor on the US market this month.
The device will be powered by a 1 GHz Athlon 4 Processor, a 15-inch display, 256 MB RAM and a DVD/CD-RW drive for around $ 2199. In addition to this 'high-end' system, HP also wants to produce a new 'Pavilion Laptop' with an 850 MHz Duron CPU. So far, HP has neither denied nor confirmed these rumors. However, a performance at Techx NY Fair is considered very likely. While the notebook would be AMD's second device in America, Compaq already sells systems with Athlon CPU, German customers have to be patient, according to HP spokeswoman Barbara Wollny. The offer is initially only intended for the USA.
