Hard drives are also becoming more expensive

After memory prices seem to have bottomed out and prices are rising slightly, hard drive prices on the market are now also beginning to rise. There are reports of empty warehouses and also the dealers are said to be barely stocked.

On the other hand, report individual distributors (wholesalers) of overcrowded warehouses and name four-digit numbers per hard drive type. The large numbers therefore particularly relate to models from the manufacturer Seagate. In contrast, the first price increases for IBM hard disks are already known, the increase is up to 20 percent. Possibly it is just an artificial shortage, which of course increases the prices. Since an 80GB hard drive is currently available for around € 100, the price increase is not so dramatically noticeable, but up to € 20 more still comes into play on the bill. This means that the user should buy a hard drive now rather than four weeks from now. Because only the future will tell us how prices will develop over the course of the year.
