Gigabyte attracts attention with 'G92 GTS'
The release date for Nvidia's newly launched, G92-based GeForce 8800 GTS has been delayed from December 3rd to December 11th, but some manufacturers are not too happy to be patient. Although one cannot speak of availability at all, Gigabyte has already made it into a German price search engine.
Schottenland.de lists a Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB (GV-NX88S512H-B ) . The card carries the now well-known reference cooler and offers standard clock rates of 650 MHz chip, 1625 MHz shader and 970 MHz real memory clock. The role-playing game Neverwinter Nights 2 is given as a supplement.
Even on the English-language website of Expreview one can already report about Gigabyte's 'early start'. The corresponding message also mentions that the somewhat slower GeForce 8800 GT from Gigabyte will soon be replaced by a model with a Zalman cooler. Gigabyte typically relies on the tried and tested VF700-AlCu VGA cooler . A corresponding image was put into circulation by fudzilla.com some time ago.
