German Xbox prices confirmed

German Xbox prices confirmed

After there was always talk of 479 euros for an Xbox in Germany in the past, this price has now come true. The price for the basic version is now fixed at 399 euros net for wholesalers, which corresponds to 462.84 euros gross.

Thus, the price for the consumer will actually be 475 euros. At 65 to 70 euros, the games cannot exactly be described as bargains and are slightly above the prices of the competition. Particularly annoying for German customers is the fact that in Japan you only pay around 295 euros for the Xbox, 180 euros less than in Europe. The following games should be available for the release in Germany on March 14th:

  • Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
  • Blood Wake
  • Dark Summit
  • Dead or Alive 3
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Halo
  • Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
  • Project Gotham Racer
  • Rallysport Challenge
  • Tony Hawks 3 Proskater
  • Transworld Surf

The very high price for hardware and software and the significantly cheaper competition will be Microsoft is certainly not making the start in Europe any easier.
