German web has become slower

The company Keynote Systems, which specializes in website measurements, has determined that the average access time of the 40 best-known German websites has deteriorated by 3.67 seconds between May 14th and 18th. In the previous week it was only 2.97 seconds. At the top is the search engine Yahoo with a response time of 0.43 seconds, followed by Web.de with 0.72 seconds (+ 40% compared to the previous week) and the major mail order company Quelle with 0.80 seconds.

These three also have an accessibility of 100 percent. Fourth and fifth place went to the two search engines Lycos (0.83 seconds) and Fireball (0.93 seconds). Among the 40 most popular German websites, the slowest response time was 26.66 seconds. The most popular sites in the areas of search engines, e-commerce, media, communication, high-tech, financial services and portals are tested. For this purpose, seven keynote computers distributed in Germany measure the reaction time of the 40 pages from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 20:00 by calling it four times in one hour.
