GeForce4 installation on Epox mainboards problematic
The GeForce4 Ti4600 graphics card from Visiontek cannot be installed due to an excessively soldered capacitor on the Epox mainboards EP-8KHA and EP-8KHA +. The capacitor with the designation CE6 on the main board was additionally soldered due to the assumption that the DDR memory consumes more power.
Due to the specification of the DDR memory that Epox was available in the first quarter of 2001, two of the Capacitors soldered. As it turned out only now, one of them is enough. Talented hobbyists could remove the superfluous capacitor themselves. Less gifted users can turn to support, says Epox manager Thomas Huang. However, the graphics card itself has no problems with the Epox mainboards.
