GeForce3 goes into mass production today
Nvidia started mass production of the GeForce3 chip today. The previous models were therefore only samples and the actual production is only starting today. Nvidia uses the 0.15 µm technology from TSMC, which uses 7 metal layers and only has a gate length of 0.11 micrometers. Since, according to Nvidia, mass production is now starting, all problems should finally have been resolved and there should be no further delays.
The first cards with the GeForce3 chip are still expected for the beginning of April. However, some manufacturers who are not one of Nvidia's direct partners and are therefore not included in the first delivery have to wait until May to bring their cards onto the market.
