GeForce2 MX400 with DDR RAM
What turned out to be a flop with Creative's modification of the original GeForce2 MX, Powercolor is now trying again. As the company announced, a GeForce2 MX400 card with 32MB DDR-RAM, TV-Out and software bundle (Unreal Tournament + DVD player) will soon be launched.
The bandwidth of the Memory, however, is again only a meager 64-bit, which completely negates the possible speed advantage of DDR-RAM over SDRAMs (128-bit). It is not yet known when the card with the cryptic name 'CMX2D' will come onto the market. In addition, Powercolor has announced a complete image change in the 21st calendar week. In addition to a new company name, HP will also say goodbye to its old design. To what extent both the card and the new company strategy can establish themselves in the market remains to be seen with great anticipation.
