GeForce 3 goes into production
Elsa has finally shown a copy of the new Gladiac 920 at CeBIT, which should be in the store in about three weeks. After Nvidia had introduced the GeForce 3 on February 27th, it was not yet possible to buy a graphics card with a GeForce 3 chip. Stepping 3 was therefore the final stepping, even if you worked out stepping 4 and 5, but these should only be used for internal test purposes.
The cards will come onto the market in step 3. Elsa is currently producing the Gladiac 920 at high pressure. It should be published together with 3DMark2001, a special DirectX 8 optimized version of Giants and drivers in version 11.00 and cost 1299 marks. It will be delivered around the first or second week of April. Since there are already several thousand pre-orders at the retailers, it is high time to finally bring the cards onto the market.
