GeForce 3 already available in Japan

The first graphics cards with nVidia's latest graphics chip, the GeForce 3, have already appeared on the market in Japan. The relatively unknown manufacturer Prolink has equipped the cards with 64MB DDR-RAM and a TV-out.

The price is the equivalent of around 880 DM. Since nVidia needed some stepping to remove all bugs in the GeForce-3, one could now assume that Prolink used a chip from the earlier A03 stepping for these graphics cards. But you are wrong, because it is definitely a GeForce 3 graphics chip with the final stepping A05. Japanese retailers are also expecting deliveries from Asus, Elsa and Leadtek in the next few days.
