From January in Hesse with 50 Mbit in the Internet

The company consortium eKabel has taken over 65 percent of the shares in the TV cable network in Hesse from Telekom. eKabel plans to upgrade the broadband cable network to a modern fiber optic network with a return channel in order to be able to offer customers a “real” multimedia cable for Internet, digital TV and telephony in the future.

A data transfer rate of up to 50 Mbit/sec can be achieved.

The expansion of the network is to begin this year, so that the first customers in Hessen can take advantage of the new services as early as January. The nationwide expansion of the network should be completed in 3 years.
