Four manufacturers want to use ATi mainboard chipset
ATi's motherboard chipset, which has only been announced so far, seems to be accepted by the ODMs (Original Design Manufacturer). As Digitimes wanted to know from their sources, which are often unnamed, four Taiwanese manufacturers have already jumped on the ATi Express.
Like the A4 chipset , should too the A3 chipset with integrated graphics based on the Radeon7000 come along. With this chipset, however, ATi relies on the long-established SocketA and Socket370 platforms, which they intend to fuel. The four ODMs are made up of a mainboard manufacturer and three notebook assemblers and, according to DigiTimes, want to start mass production in the second quarter of next year.
