Forwarding tariffs are becoming cheaper

Deutsche Telekom has really been on everyone's lips in the last few days. After a tough back and forth, a compromise has finally been found for interconnection traffic, which other telephone companies have to pay for their calls to be routed through the Deutsche Telekom network.

The new billing should not be used Depending on the distance, as with the current Telekom tariffs 'City', 'Regio 50', 'Regio 200' or 'Fern'. Rather, the number of network elements used for the transmission should now be calculated regardless of the distance. This would also mean the transmission tariffs reflect the real use of telecom switching technology and thus be significantly more cost-effective. Compared to the current tariffs, the new regulation would reduce costs by 14 percent. The new interconnection tariffs will be valid from January 2002.
