First information about the GameCube launch
Slowly but surely, the facts about the launch of the GameCube in Europe are also becoming known. Nintendo would like to bring its new game console onto the market on May 3rd for 249 euros and would be only about half as expensive as Microsoft's Xbox, which has to be paid dearly in Europe at 475 euros for the time being.
Nintendo undercuts thus also the current price of the Playstation 2 from Sony by around 50 euros. At the launch of the game console, customers should be able to access 20 game titles and one million GameCubes should be ready to start. With the GameCube, Nintendo finally wants to get away from its child image and appeal to older customers as well. One wants to achieve this through 'interactive play', so the marketing director of Nintendo Europe, David Gosen. Further details should be available on Monday in a live video stream on the European GameCube site .
