European Internet industry association founded

As the 'Financiel Times Deutschland' reports, several online providers are founding the industry association 'European Internet Advertising Association' (EIAA). In addition to the European subsidiaries of the US companies AOL, MSN and Yahoo, T-Online and its competitors Lycos and Tiscali are also involved.

The aim is to jointly increase the importance of the Internet as an advertising market, because At the moment just one percent of the European advertising budget is spent on the Internet. With the help of the EIAA, this value is to be increased to over 5 percent by 2007. Michael Kleindl, CEO of the Internet advertising marketer Adlink, who is also participating in the establishment of the EIAA, will be the head of the industry association, which will officially become active next Monday
