Error on motherboards with Intel MTH
Intel is facing another big exchange campaign, this time it affects all mainboards with the i820 chipset that support SD-RAM. The whole thing is to blame for the MTH (Memory Translator Hub), which converts RAMBUS commands into SD-RAM commands so that SD-RAM also works with the i820 chipset, which normally does not support SD-RAMs.
The reason for the exchange is that the MTH is sensitive to noise, which leads to crashes in some systems. The number of boards affected is approx. 1 million pieces, but not all mainboards with the i820 chipset are affected, only those that also support SD-RAM and therefore have an MTH onboard. If you own such a mainboard yourself, you can exchange it at your dealer or you should contact Intel support.
