Epox M762A and Gigabyte A-7DPXDW in the test: Dual-AMD motherboards in comparison

Sysmark2002

Now to benchmarks that simulate working with known applications. Here the Sysmark2002, which symbolizes the daily work with common applications. These include Macromedia Dremweaver 4.0 and Flash v5, Adobe Photoshop 6 and Premiere 6, Microsoft's Office package, Winzip 8 or Netscape Communicator 6, to name just a few.

Unfortunately we don't have any results with the new mainboards. With dozens of attempts the Sysmark2002 could not be persuaded to cooperate. Shortly after starting the benchmark, he said goodbye with an error message. Changing all possible settings in the BIOS was also unsuccessful. Even exchanging the memory did not change anything. Just like activating the error correction in the BIOS. Since the only thing that has changed since our last comparison test, apart from the mainboards of course, is the Registered ECC memory, we assume that this bench does not run with this type of memory. Should there ever be a patch for it, we will do it again.

Cinebench2000

The second application benchmark, Cinebench2000 from Maxon, is based on the rendering and animation programCinema 4D XL. This benchmark is divided into three parts and allows the processor to render different scenes with and without the support of the graphics card (OpenGL).

Here you can see the same picture again. All three mainboards are almost on par. Only in ray tracing with 2 CPUs can the Epox move up to first place with 0.59 points, while the Asus is slightly ahead in shading.
