Engine demo published by X-Isle
The guys from Crytek have now released a first demo of X-Isle: Dinosaur Island. This slightly more than 40MB demo only shows the possibilities of the graphics engine, which was also used to present nVidia's GeForce3.
And for this reason some features of this tech demo, such as texture shaders or a highly complex one T-Rex, reserved for GeForce3 owners only. As the owner of a GeForce 256 or GeForce 2 based graphics card, on the other hand, you have at least the opportunity to explore the terrain of a huge island, but apart from a few butterflies, you cannot see anything moving. With other graphics cards, however, the demo should not run at all. The demo can be downloaded here . Finally, here are five screenshots from the demo.
