Elsa provides final figures
As already announced with the preliminary figures (we reported), Elsa has now confirmed the losses by submitting the final figures for the third quarter. Elsa is also assuming negative business results for the year as a whole.
Elsa closed the third quarter with a 22 percent decline in sales from 72.8 million euros to 57.1 million euros. After a profit of 3.8 million euros in the previous year, a loss of 4.9 million euros was announced in the third quarter of 2001. Elsa does not want to return to profitability until the 2002 financial year, to which the strong market position, the initiated cost-saving measures, the opening of the DSL modem market and new broadband technologies should contribute.
