Easy CD Creator puts Windows 2000 at risk

As Roxio, the manufacturer of the Easy CD Creator burning software, announced, there can be significant problems between version 5.0 of the burning program and Windows 2000. However, the error is not in the main program itself, but in the Take Two module, which was made for backing up entire hard drives.

When this problem occurs, Windows 2000 does not boot at all but always hangs on a dreaded Blue Screen Of Death. Roxio recommends that customers who have not yet installed Easy CD Creator 5.0 not install the Take Two module. If it is already 'too late' and Windows 2000 no longer boots, you should disconnect the burner from the IDE connection and remove all USB devices. In addition, Roxio already offers an update to version 5.01 on its homepage, with which this problem should no longer occur. This should be an international version, although the site mentions an English update.
