DVD on the rise
The DVD is on the rise, at least in the US. 2.7 million players were already sold there in the first half of this year, which is double the comparison to the first half of the previous year.
Experts see the better picture quality compared to VHS tapes as the reason for this success, as well as the additional features that many DVDs have. Around 7,000 titles are currently available, and by the end of the year there should be 8,500.
