DVD burner for the home user

According to its own information, Pioneer would like to offer a DVD-R recorder for home users as early as the beginning of 2001. Write-once DVD-R and rewritable DVD-RW are burned at 2 times the speed, conventional CD-R and CD-RW media are burned at 8 times the speed.

It fits on a DVD medium up to 4.7 GB per page. The DVDs you create yourself should then be playable on normal DVD players, which Pioneer expressly emphasized. The price has not yet been mentioned, but Pioneer calls this burner 'the first affordable device for home users'.
