Duron has multiprocessor capability
It was already known that the AMD Athlon with the chipset AMD-760MP, which will appear in June of this year, will have the option of being used in a multi-processor system. But AMD has now leaked that, contrary to previous claims, the Duron is also multi-processor capable! The Intel Celeron, on the other hand, can only do its work on its own, as Intel has taken its SMP (Symmetric Multi Processing) capability.
The multiprocessor systems that appear inexpensive at first glance also have their pitfalls. Because particular attention must be paid to adequate cooling and power supply. The power supply should have at least 460 watts and the power supply fan must be oriented towards the processors. These measures are intended to ensure that the housing temperature does not exceed 42 ° Celsius. Only a test will be able to show whether the additional performance offered justifies the additional costs for the powerful power supply unit and the mainboard with AMD-760MP chipset.
