Digital TV from Microsoft and News Corporation
The world's largest software company Microsoft plans to invest in media mogul Rupert Murdoch's Sky Corporation. According to information that has not yet been confirmed in more detail, Microsoft intends to invest one billion US dollars (almost 2.5 billion DM) in Sky Corporation, which would correspond to around 3.5 percent.
Both companies are holding on with further information so far. Sky Corporation, a subsidiary of the world-famous News Corporation, originally wanted to go public this fall, but this has been postponed until next year due to the current stock market situation.
Microsoft hopes that the participation will benefit its set -Top boxes (Internet access devices that do without a PC) and its WebTV technology.
