Delivery of the Pentium 4 is delayed

The Pentium 4 may be shipped much later than expected. Based on insider information, the official sales start at the end of October was assumed, but this could be delayed by several weeks due to instabilities of the i850 chipset (Rambus) intended for the Pentium 4.

A year ago the chip manufacturer took the i820 chipset off the market and it took almost 2 months until appropriately revised mainboards came onto the market. Therefore, it remains exciting at the moment whether Intel will actually manage to deliver the Pentium 4 in time for the Christmas business.
