DDR400 memory - Later this year
While the production of DDR333 memory modules is just getting started, the memory manufacturer Micron is already proclaiming a new standard in an official press release: DDR400. And Micron also immediately follows action. The delivery of the first DDR400 pre-series chips and complete memory modules to interested companies, including SIS, has already started.
As if one had guessed it, the new SIS648 chipset will support DDR400 memory. Thus, SIS is one of the first chipset manufacturers to officially support the upcoming standard.
Furthermore, Micron has been informed that serial delivery of the chips will begin in the middle of this year, albeit the SIS648 - as well as the VIA KT400 chipset will appear on the market.
