In fact, the Radeon9700pro with activated 2xFSAA is consistently just ahead of the Ti4600 without FSAA. Only the higher levels consume more and more of the available bandwidth. Nevertheless, 4xFSAA remains continuously playable and with 6xFSAA there is an unexpectedly heavy break-in only in 1600x1200.

AF reduces the performance clearly measurably, but hardly noticeably in the game itself. With a maximum loss of 14%, the gain in image quality is not bought too dearly. Even the Geforce4, which should be quite handicapped with active AF under Direct3D, takes the deep blow on theirsPerformance within the scope of its possibilities surprisingly well gone. At no time does it even come close to the Radeon.
