Christmas sales with Athlon XP

The computer sales chain PC-Spezialist wants to increasingly rely on the new AMD Athlon XP this Christmas season. Since AMD sells the speed of its processors again with the so-called XP rating, which does not indicate the real clock frequency but that of a comparable AMD Thunderbird processor, the market situation for consumer CPUs has clearly shifted in the direction of AMD, according to a company spokesman for PC- Specialist.

The demand for the new AMD CPUs has made a leap forward with this trick, similar to last year with the Athlon 900 and 1000 processors, and set new standards. 'We want to address the wishes of our customers with our advertising,' said Frank Roebers, CEO of PC-Spezialist Franchise AG, and added: 'They want systems with AMD processors.'
