Christmas 2007: We wish something: That!

Christmas 2007: We wish something: That!

Time goes by in a flash. Another year has passed and new technologies have made it to market. New hardware has found its way into the interior of the case, new games exhaust the graphics cards and require a new generation. But shouldn't you take a break from the visual splendor and treat your ears to a treat again?

I think so and recommend - as a Queen fan - a “new” album by the Champions this year as well. So this year the live album “Queen Rock Montreal” will be under the Christmas tree for me. The concert, recorded in front of 18,000 fans in Montreal, was prepared with the technology possible today and is available on vinyl as well as a CD version.

The inclined listener who cannot or does not want to do without the visual can also get a DVD of the concert fall back - there then also in powerful DTS sound. To go one better, you canalso have fun with an HD-DVD or Blu-ray version. All video versions also have recordings of Queen's performance at the Live Aid concert. Probably one of the best performances of the band.

However, if you don't want to wait until Christmas for Queen supplies, you can Download the song 'Say It's Not True' from the next year's studio album by Queen + Paul Rodgers for free . In summary: turn up the system and enjoy good music!

Another year, the same problem. Already last year it should be a new graphics card and so far nothing has changed. The two large manufacturers AMD and Nvidia simply skilfully ignored the 200 euro segment until shortly before the end of the year, there was no usable model for me. But now the time seems to be right. Both the recently introduced GeForce 8800 GT and the ATi HD 3870 roughly correspond to what I expect from a new graphics card: good performance, the latest technology and a decent price - The only problem is still a little with the availability.

And, well, it will probably not work with a new graphics card before Christmas, after all, I don't want to be angry in a few weeks that the one I bought Card is now available for 30-50 euros less. So patience is still the order of the day. Meanwhile, I haven't decided on a specific card or manufacturer - that will happen at short notice depending on the supply situation.
