Chipset prices continue to fall

Lately, primarily price reductions in the processor area have made the rounds, but also with the motherboard chipsets a lot has happened in terms of prices. The price of the VIA KT133 Socket A chipset has fallen by 20-25% since the beginning of 2001. The successor, the KT133A, will soon follow this development. The picture is similar when it comes to prices for DDR chipsets.

VIA, SiS and Ali chipsets will be made available for the Pentium 4 supported, further and further reduced in price. For a SiS chip you currently only pay 19 US dollars and an ALi or VIA chip 20 US dollars. There is also a rapid drop in prices for chipsets with an integrated graphics unit. For example, SiS and VIA products currently have to be paid for less than US $ 20. There is currently no change in this trend in sight.
