Celeron with 2.0 GHz in the test: Does a Pentium 4 competitor overclock to 3.0 GHz?

Sysmark 2002

  • The new version of the benchmark is also divided into two areas. In the first area, the working environment of a 'webmaster' or 'web designer' is simulated, which is called Internet Content Creation. In this test section, the following real applications are controlled with a script language:
    • Macromedia Dreamweaver 5
    • Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1
    • Adobe Premiere 6.0
    • Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 7.1
    • Macromedia Flash 5.0
In the second area of Sysmark 2002, everyday office life (Office Content Creation) is measured with a whole range of applications that run parallel to one another via multitasking be addressed. These applications include Microsoft Office 2002, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Netscape Communicator 6.0, WinZip 8.0 and McAfee VirusScan 5.13. The respective partial results that result from the Internet Content Creation and Office Content Creations are each 50 percent included in the final result. From version 2002 onwards, critics accuse Sysmark of being biased in favor of Intel. The change in the weighting of the individual tests compared with the 2001 version put the focus on CPUs from this manufacturer. However, we will keep the test on our course with reservations.
