CeBIT with fewer visitors than last year
The closing press conference of CeBIT 2002 will be held today in Hanover. Deutsche Messe AG estimates the number of visitors before the end of today's and thus the last day at around 700,000. That would be a decrease of around 17 percent compared to the previous year, when 849,252 visitors had visited the fair.
By dividing the halls according to subject areas, visitors had to walk less often across the fairgrounds, which meant that the CeBIT looked a bit emptier. The number of exhibitors has also decreased. In the previous year, 8093 exhibitors were present at CeBIT, this year there were only 7962, which corresponds to a decrease of around 2 percent.
