CeBIT hopes for record participation
Even if the IT industry is struggling with a lull at the moment, one hopes for a strong boost soon, so that the CeBIT organizers are also expecting new records for the area and number of exhibitors for the next year.
From March 13th to 20th, 2002, 8,100 companies will present themselves at the Hanover Exhibition Center. The proportion of foreign companies is also higher than ever at 3,210. As in the previous year, the exhibition center is fully booked. However, due to the lull, the guests are a little more cautious and initially only expect 800,000 visitors. This year there were at least 850,000 visitors. E-commerce and the new UMTS mobile network will continue to play an important role at the fair.
