Buy scramble for Hynix

The South Korean newspaper 'Maeil Business Newspaper' has reported that Infineon has offered a higher sum than Micron for the purchase of the virtually bankrupt chip manufacturer Hynix. Hynix expects 5 billion US dollars for the sale.

So far, Micron has only offered 3.1 billion US dollars, now Infineon has exceeded this value, but no precise information is known about the amount of the offer . According to experts, Hynix's chip production is currently valued at around $ 4 billion. Last weekend, Infineon boss Ulrich Schumacher traveled to Seoul for talks with Hynix, and the talks with a larger delegation are to be continued this Wednesday. Hynix had recently stumbled due to the high level of debt and had to be supported by loans from the South Korean government.
