But only AGP4x for Matrox Parhelia?
Although Matrox's newest graphics chip, the Parhelia-512, was officially unveiled on May 14th, there are now rumors about the technical data again. Once again, these rumors come from 'The Inquirer', who supposedly learned from Matrox that the Parhelia will only have AGP4x support.
In the documents presenting Matrox, however, one reads AGP 8x everywhere . Matrox is said to have justified this step with the low availability of AGP 8x motherboards for the launch of the Parhelia. Even if the rumors come true, this does not represent a particularly big change for the Parhelia and its performance. AGP 4x is currently still completely sufficient and is not used by current games, so that there is still enough scope for future software.
