Bug in Windows XP causes data loss

The 'best operating system of all time' according to Bill Gates, Windows XP, like its predecessors, is still prone to errors. The files in certain folders are at risk if you want to re-upload or update the system. A patch from Microsoft will follow soon.

Users who have a pre-installed version of Windows XP on their computer should rather not refresh the configuration with the CD or install the professional version. The 'All Users' and 'Default User' folders are overwritten during the update procedure. All contained data is then lost. If you have created your own profile, nothing is deleted. According to Microsoft, the 'undo_guidmode.txt' file should be deleted from the System32 directory before the update. The manufacturer has already announced a patch.
